Yes. Right at the start there's literally a whole bus full of people singing before anyone has talked one word. They talk too but there's lots of songs. It's not the classical musical style though (like West Side Story and the likes), they sing all 80's and early 90's rock songs and corny rock ballads such as "More Than Words", and it's the actors who sing. In some parts they dance too but just a few times.
Well, I liked it, it was funny and the singing was ok, and I usually hate musicals. wink The plot is irrelevant though. Almost runs up to the sublime complexity of any trashy high school movie. grin

I saw Rock Of Ages with my mum - she couldn't stand the blonde leading lady, who had more autotune on her voice than there was on the Squackett album!

Russell Brand's accent wandered all over - my mum thought he was Yorkshire while I thought he sounded South African in some parts! Tom Cruise was miscast as Tracee Jaxx, whose name has had me have Blur's 'Stacey Jacks' as an earworm ever since this was first publicised! His band being called 'Arsenal' made me wish for people to cough on mention of the name in tribute to that Morecambe & Wise sketch!

LOL!

Funniest part was Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand falling in love.

Tom Cruise was a total cringefest. The two leads were so sugary sweet I thought my teeth were going to fall out.

All in all a dreadful movie that Liam would have hated. But my girlfriend and I still had fun.

Hey, I'm a guy (not gay wink ) and I went in that movie all on my own - at some point in the middle of things I was like "what am I doing here?!" I still had my fun though. smiley

It was weird by any means, they showed the movie at 6 pm on a Monday - all shows were during the week and only in the afternoon - and we were no less than six (yes, six!) people in this big ass cinema room: a couple, three 15-year old teenie girls, and yea um, me. tongue lol cheesy

I also fancied seeing 'Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World', but was put off by the bad review in Metro.

Doesn't it seem like there is a Batman and Spiderman movie out every summer? Can't anybody come up with something original and better?

Yes and No.

Also, I don't get the fixation with vampires that TV and film producers seem to have.
