The new theatrical version of Anna Karenina. Amazing images, customes, music and even choreography ..... I liked this different version of Leo Tolstoy's story.

Watched an enjoyable little comedy yesterday called 'The Maiden Heist'. Set in America, starring Christopher Walken, Morgan Freeman & William H Macy as museum security guards who plot to steal valuable artefacts during their delivery to another museum in Copenhagen.
Innocent fun.

Just came back from the cinema, I watched Silver Linings Playbook. Not bad, but I found it a bit slow.

Took the boy to see Iron Man 3. It was lots of fun and much more entertaining than I expected. Good actors having fun with smart dialogue and snappy effects. Possibly the best movie I've seen with the number "3" in the title. smiley

I enjoyed The Look Of Love except for the bit at the end that threatened to turn Steve Coogan's biopic of Paul Raymond into The Imogen Poots Show. Duffy murdering 'Please Stay' was bad enough in Telstar!

They should have gone with Anyway That You Want Me over the end credits! I got A Cock & Bull Story (Tristram Shandy in the US) today for 3 in HMV today.

Having recently had a couple of long plane journeys, I have seen a few films for the first time...

The first of these was Les Miserables (I watched this on both journeys!). It was fantastic and had me crying at the end, a rare sight - except when I'm watching Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King! I haven't seen the stage show (or read the book) but I loved the film. (Les Mis that is, not ROTK!) Great music. cool

I also watched Quartet and Wreck-it Ralph. Both were very entertaining. smiley

Watched Silver Linings Playbook today, but fell asleep at one point and woke up to see some naff dancing. I expected to see Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood giving them a 10 each!

Pat and his family were a piece of work - and I wouldn't recommend throwing a book out of a window at 3 am myself. Though I had to admit his rant about Ernest Hemingway's A Farewell To Arms rivalled how I felt about Eowyn Ivey's The Snow Child!

I enjoyed A Cock & Bull Story much better (and may want to look for Tristram Shandy in the library).
