Surely you got the fan club email, no? I know it's a tough week to do the Beacon shows but depending on if any Philly shows are announced or not, I might do the Boston shows the weekend before the Beacon. A Fri/Sat in Beantown sounds like fun!

Are you interested in going to any of the shows?

No way I could go to the Beacon shows, and Boston is tempting, but not realistically in the cards. I had planned to go to Raleigh and Charlotte...even bought tickets...but now that is a no go as well. undecided

Ahh man that sucks! You're still in for Camden though right?

Rumor has it there's a Philly run in the cards for the week before Boston or there abouts. I heard around the 14th/15th and possibly three nights. I'll keep you posted in case you might be able to swing that but if it's happening it probably won't get announced til after the Camden show. Something about not being able to announce shows in the same area as a fest until after the fest.

Yup, Camden is a definite go. But I can't see travelling for any other shows, as much as I'd like to.

Maybe one of you would be so kind as to clue us in to what the fork you're talking about. rolleyes

Nah, that wouldn't put as big a smile on my face as talking about it here. grin

Besides, while I may have strayed off topic a bit, the subject is in a post a few back. Then I always smile at Henry's red smiley face response, and it went a couple of posts from there. I'm sure that's not the only couple of posts on this site to go a bit off topic. rolleyes

I'll be more mindful in the future to walk the straight, and narrow. tongue

Well not really. Unless you and Henry are scoring tickets to a Kanye West show, you give no indication of what tour you're talking about.

I will assume, however, that it's My Morning Jacket. wink

Does it really matter who I scored the tix for? I didn't feel the need to put what band it was. Because regardless of who it was for, scoring front row was what put the smile on my face, and that's why I posted in this thread. Henry obviously ended up knowing about those shows, put his red faced smiley in his reply, and we went from there. My bad for taking it a couple of posts off topic.

Truth is, I thought about putting the band in my post but thought maybe I'd catch some grief for not posting it in the gigs or other bands threads. Go figure. grin

For the record, it was MMJ, but that's just a bonus smile or two for me. smiley smiley wink

sad

This is an example of two innocently-pedantic guys making a couple of innocent comments that don't quiiiite jibe with each other, causing both guys to continue on in a singularly futile attempt to try to get their point across. grin

So please allow me to prolong the agony....

Your initial post was wonderful, and more-than-adequately related something that deservedly put a smile on your face. As it would mine. What ensued was a series of posts between the two of you... "Are you seeing them in Saskatchawan?" "No, can't make that one, but I'll be at the Woonsocket* show." "Bummer, but you're coming to Peoria, right?" I was amused that this whole exchange took place without ever mentioning the band that you were both excited about.

That's all. I probably shouldn't have even brought it up. It was just a thing, is all I'm saying is all. smiley

*Woonsocket, by the way, is a grubby little town** in Rhode Island that probably doesn't even have a concert venue.

**No offense to anyone from Woonsocket, nor to Krissy, who probably traveled through Woonsocket on her recent vacation and posted pictures of same to Facebook.

I'm just here for the fun.

Hi there

Visiting Steve Hackett's new home and seeing a copy of my books in one of his bookcases now that really DID put a smile on my face! grin

Kitty and I had always hoped our grandkids would come visit us on their own when they got older. Well, that time has come.

Our 21-year-old granddaughter, Kaytie, got into a tiff with her mom and dad and asked if she could stay with us for awhile.

She's a good kid and is going to a Christian University here in SoCal, with the intent of one day being a software engineer. She's been interviewed by the Navy for an entry level position paying quite a bit of money to start. We're very proud of her.

We've probably all been in her situation, where you don't get along with your parents, but still you love them. You just can't be around them too much because they drive you crazy.

It's nice to have her here. We've given her a key to the house and expressed to her how happy we are to have her in our home.

Kaytie is engaged to marry her long-time boyfriend (now fiance) next May. He lives in Santa Barbara, CA, which is a day's drive from here, and she plans to move to Santa Barbara once they're married. So, we're glad we can spend this time with her.
