Counting out time, I can't believe that you have never spent a night apart from your wife since 1999! Wow!

Lily, there was a time a few years ago when my mother had fallen and broken her hip. My wife went to stay with her for a few days to help her convalesce, but this was just 40 miles from home.

Having her more than 2000 miles away feels a lot different. I miss her terribly.

I'm looking forward to picking her up at the airport on Thursday smiley

This is fascinating to me as I've never been in a relationship like that. I was with a man for 20 years, but I liked it when he went away as I could go home when I felt like it not having to let anyone know, play my music loud, not consider dinner, watch chick stuff on TV no complaints etc.

I was always happy to see him come home, but love my alone time. My partner now is more like you, and I just can't live like that.

Your way does sound terribly romantic though. smiley

I'm going to Turks and Caicos for a week in a few days, and I'm going alone. I'll read, swim, chase dolphins, snorkel, go boating, write, not have to cook, and do exactly as I want (within the confines of a committed relationship of course, no hanky panky) when I want.

I will sit on the beach and watch the sunset as I listen to my favourite music. Now THAT puts a smile on my face. cool

When children and grandchildren are part of the relationship, it gives one a different slant on life.

The love that I receive from these kids and grandkids has made the bond between my wife and I so much stronger.

She and I are as one...as it should be smiley

The things that once were precious as a single person are still important to me, many of which were mentioned in your post, and we both do get some alone time now and again.

The things I enjoyed in my single life can't hold a candle to the world my wife and I have created together.

The way it should be?

Ouch! cry

I'm not sure if I deserved that. If it sounded like I was putting your life down, I wasn't, and apologize if it came across that way. Did it?

Of course not, silly wink

We are as one, the way it should be when a man and woman have committed to a life together. In marriage, we are one, an image we hope is a positive one to our kids and grandkids.

I would never have dinged you for anything you said. Your opinions and comments are your own and I respect them kiss

One of my American friends. She posted a series of telephone calls on her facebook page, it was companies trying to sell you stuff on the phone or scam calls and she turned all the calls into pranks on those people by acting stupid grin Some guy called her who said he wanted to fix her Windows (on the computer), actually it was a scam because he wanted to get access on her computer. She acted like a dumb fool who thinks that guy wanted to fix her (real) windows. The conversation goes on for 10 minutes until she finally tells him "No, you're wrong, I don't own any computer! I just want my windows fixed!" laugh

Going on holiday in Turkey. So that's what I'm doing, this Saturday! grin

And I doubt I'll have time to get on the forum again before I go, so see you in just over a week.

(Mrs. Feeder has just washed my "Wolflight" T-shirt, as she knows I won't leave home without it!)
