I sing all the time when listening to music in my university room. None of my flatmates can hear me because the door is soundproof, so I can sing as loud and as badly as I like! smiley I've asked them a few times if they can hear me, and thankfully they cannot. I would be mortified if I found out that had heard my horrible singing voice... lipsrsealed

And they can be trusted to tell the truth about such a thing?

Got a recording device (Cassette, phone or similar)? I'd put it to the test. Put it another way: Can you hear them when they're in the corridor?

Why on earth is "British" controversial? huh

Some people in the UK don't like being called British, instead wanting to be referred to as English, Scottish, Welsh or Northern Irish. Then there are people in Cornwall who hate being English and prefer to be called Cornish (and have the county referred to as "Kernow"), people in Liverpool who prefer to be called Liverpudlian, people on the Isle of Man who consider themselves not British but Manx, etc. It's all a bit silly if you ask me. No-one in the world can have just one denonym, unless you live on a tiny unclaimed island with only a name.

Rarely. And I can only hear what's coming from their rooms when they have obnoxiously loud and bass-heavy techno music playing.

We seem to have gone off-topic. grin What puts a smile on my face today? This morning, I did a presentation for a lecture and it went perfectly. I actually surprised myself. Usually I end up stammering and losing my place once or twice when doing presentations, but this morning I proved to myself that I don't have to make those mistakes. smiley

Sorry, but "controversial" is the wrong word IMHO. I normally say that I'm English, but I have no problem with British nor indeed with citizen of the UK. I cannot believe that many people would regard being labelled British as controversial. I am sure that there are many people who say that they are, for example, Scottish but who still believe in the Union.

I know what I would call an obscene amount of money for a bracelet. I don't even want to think about you would call it. But I'm glad you love it! smiley

I'm curious what you would think, I guess it's all relative. When I showed my person and he asked how much it was, he was glad it 'wasn't that much'.

I don't put a lot of stock into jewellery so it may not be obscene at all, just to me. Henry probably buys a set of special stereo wires or something for this much.

Hey, I'll put my speaker cables up against your damn bracelet any day of the week. User Image
