They also do a standard, traditional haggis in a tin, but you can get proper ones at Sainsburys or Morrisons. It's lovely, been eating it since about age 5, half-Scottish you see.

I'm half-Scottish too, more Scottish than English in fact, and I've never tried haggis. I don't think I'm missing out to be honest. grin

Hi there

Watching our so-called "Communities Minister" Eric Pickles squirming in the House of Commons debate over the Environment Agency's handling of the current floods. Couldn't happen to a nicer slug... oops person!

Browsing the forum while listening to "In the Cage" and suddenly realising I've subconsciously been loudly singing along the whole time laugh

West Ham beating Norwich 2-0

A couple of weeks ago West Ham were in the relegation zone placed 18th... There win now moves them into 10th place in the table.

I sing all the time when listening to music in my university room. None of my flatmates can hear me because the door is soundproof, so I can sing as loud and as badly as I like! smiley I've asked them a few times if they can hear me, and thankfully they cannot. I would be mortified if I found out that had heard my horrible singing voice... lipsrsealed

I knew someone would ask this. I'm more Scottish then English because I'm also one eighth Danish (my great grandfather on my Mum's side was a Dane). That makes me three eighths English instead of half English, and therefore, more Scottish than English. That's why I consider myself a British person overall, and I refer to my country as the United Kingdom, never "England". smiley

How will you define your nationality if Scotland votes for independence?

This is something I'm not sure about. If Scotland becomes independent, Scotland will no longer be considered British territory. Living in the UK would still make me a British citizen, but it would mean I would have less British blood. I would have 50% blood considered Scottish, 37.5% blood considered English (and therefore UK blood) and 12.5% Danish blood. So I guess I'll technically be a Scottish person after independence.

On the other hand, my Dad, who was born in Scotland and is fully Scottish, has it worse. He too considers himself British, having spent has almost all of his life living in England with Scottish parents, but he may be considered an expatriate if Scottish independence actually happens. undecided

Yes, that is true. "British" is a controversial word these days, but many people forget that the word originates from the name of this island.
