The music of Gentle Giant. smiley I strongly recommend them to anyone on this forum who hasn't tried them out for these four reasons:

1) Their albums are all quite short but very sweet. Thus, they are an excellent example of quality over quantity.
2) They are quite easy to take in for people not fond of prog rock and very rarely are they self-indulgent, but at the same time they don't disappoint because their music is complex and varied.
3) They use very interesting and unusual classical instrumentation, and their lyrics are highly intellectual, with top-notch harmonisation.
4) They are just wonderfully talented on every level. They actually sound like a medieval group of musicians that's come forward in time to make music for us. They are a very unique and highly accessible prog group IMHO. smiley

I fear I'd put Gentle Giant in the "Tits" thread.

If only they sounded medieval I’d probably have liked them. As it is, the only thing I can only remember about them over 20 years later is the irritating phrase “It can change, it can stay the same” repeated ad nauseam angry
