Spotting a news article about the 'reasons' that people have given for not having a television licence.

(For those not in the UK, a TV licence is mandatory if you have a TV; it costs £145.50 / approx $223 / approx Ä167. The money is used to fund the BBC, the public service broacaster).

The reasons include:

"Apparently my dog, which is a corgi, was related to the Queen's dog so I didn't think I needed a TV licence"

"Only my three-year-old son watches the TV. Can you take it out of the family allowance I receive for him? He watches it so he should pay"

"I don't want to pay for a licence for a full year. Knowing my luck I'll be dead in six months and won't get value for money"

"I have lost weight recently and had to buy new clothes. That's why I could not afford to buy a TV licence"

And my absolute favourite:

"Why would I need a TV licence for a TV I stole? Nobody knows I've got it"

grin

I've always thought it should be possible to buy a TV that receives all channels except the BBC ones. Such a TV would be exempt from requiring a licence as the licence fee only funds BBC channels. wink

What!!!!

But then you'd be missing the classic, educational, superlative TV show that is 'Snog, Marry, Avoid'.

(I've never actually watched it, not that I expect anyone to believe me! I'm sure there will now be loads of posts saying what a great show it is!!!).

I could live with a TV that only gets one BBC channel, as long as itís BBC4. But then that probably accounts for 50% of the licence fee ... & 1% of the viewers smiley

Haha. Yeah, I like confident women also.

It was actually pretty cool. She works at a store I'm in a few times a week, and asked if I was flirting with her when I come in or just being nice. I said probably a little of both, and she said good, here's my number, give me a call if you want.

She doesn't seem to be on the nutty side, but we shall see. smiley

Lets just say she was a very sexy, but wacky woman. I've tried to forget Miss wacky, but the lovely Lily won't let me! grin

Sorry Eric (not really) but it just cracked me up when you made that post, you don't normally talk about things like that. I don't even remember the context now!

Dusty it was basically that Eric had great sex with this woman but she was driving him nuts in other ways as she was a bit nuts or something.

Conclusion of discussion was that crazy people are always the best in bed. Sad but true. grin

It ok Lily. I'm glad you get a kick out of it.

Whenever it comes up here, I try to forget the wackiness, and then the memories aren't too bad. wink grin
