It took me about 5 minutes to figure that out. I was seriously wondering if Dust's family were holocaust victims, hence they were "diseased".

Yes, I meant deceased, and no, I have no clue what Schott is talking about either.

Earlier I had an excellent driving lesson, thanks to the weather being pleasant. I've now completed my 35th lesson... it's gone so fast! shocked

Never mind, it was just a misunderstanding because of language barrier. It took me a whole while to figure out that "diseased" was a typo for "deceased". 'Decease' is a word I've heard before but it never pops up in my mind thanks to my limited knowledge of the English language. So I was literally staring at the screen, wrecking my brain how honorable family members could end up diseased for people who do not live in the third world or in a war zone or something. Finally my brain made the connection that you and your family are Jewish and that many Jewish people suffered from diseases in Nazi Germany. It would have made sense that holocaust victims are held in special honor so there's enough reason to give children their names in the family line.

Sorry if this sounds weird to you, Dust, and you other forumites. It's a thing that comes with growing up in Germany, being Jewish is here a synonym for having survived the holocaust or being a descendant from holocaust survivors. Not that I ever thought about it in this forum yet but "our diseased ones" really sounds like something like that.

No worries, Schrott. I figured it was some language/cultural thing.
