My company's head office is almost next door to Windsor Racecourse. So imaginatively, at the front of the office, we have a status of...a horse.

Visiting there for a meeting today, I saw the horse had been 'decorated' with sleigh bells for Christmas. smiley

When the Olympics were on, as the office was very close to Eton Dorney where the Olympic rowing events were being held, the horse had been decorated with a Union Jack theme - that made me smile too! smiley

What will it look like at World Cup time, I wonder? Maybe it will have donned two pairs of shorts and two pairs of footy boots? grin

Sadly I don't remember 'horsey' wearing anything for the Jubilee, and I don't recall it being decorated for previous World Cups.

But that's a mighty fine idea, and I'm sorely tempted to begin a second career as the mystery phantom midnight horse-decorator. Maybe a decorative little bonnet at Easter, a nappy when Wills and Kate's baby is born....

And it also started me thinking of songs Genesis might have written with a horse theme. 'A Trick of the Tail' is an obvious one but we could have had:

Blood on the hoof-tops
Mad mane moon
Calling all stables
Mane of our times
More foal me
Anything shergar does

I think I'd better leave it there! rolleyes

Maybe I'll put in a request for them to play:

Horse-fly on a windshield
The Grand Parade-Ring of Lifeless packaging
Horsehair-less Heart
Mane on the corner

Watching an episode of 'Have I Got News For You' (for those note in the UK, it's a topical news quiz on TV) there was an article about the recent Police Commissioner elections and the low voter turnout.

They also mentioned how some voters had 'spoiled' their ballot paper, showing an example of one, where a voter had written a different name at the top of the paper and put their vote against this.

Sadly, their choice of 'Batman' didn't get elected.

The button above the flies on my trousers fell off - no sniggering at the back! grin wink Anyway, rather than give the trousers to my mother for her to repair next time I see her, I decided to effect the repair myself. So I got out my needle and cotton and reattached the button myself. smiley Of course how long the button remains attached is something I will have to find out. wink

Two countries separated by a common language. Even though the trousers only have a single zip (zipper), in British English we refer to that whole area as the plural "flies". wink

cheesy Here's another one... I don't think I've ever heard anyone under the age of 70 use the word "trousers." They're pants. wink
