After a fairly miserable summer, nice sunny weather in early September.

(Sadly I'm stuck in the office so can only enjoy it through the office window!).

Make sure to place your 5555th post on your 555th day. That would be as cool as being the seventh son of a seventh son.

The Oogieloves, a detestable new film for love-deprived pre-school kids, has thankfully become the biggest box-office flop in history. smiley It damn right deserves it - the film is an abomination which no pre-school child should ever be forced to sit through. It's so good to know that many families are boycotting it and hopefully preventing it from ever becoming a franchise. wink On the flipside, it also saddens me to know that there will be, unfortunately, lots of ill-informed parents around the world taking their children to see that youth-insulting garbage. sad

When I first saw the trailer for it on YouTube, I assumed it was merely a joke trailer; a parody of poor-quality childrens films. It damn looked like it. But, to the world's horror and disbelief, it's not. It's a real film and easily the most obnoxious, putrid cinematic filth to ever grace our screens. angry

You speak with feeling! Have you sat through the entire film?

I must admit I've never heard of it (hardly ever go to cinema and don't even watch much TV these days) but reading the synopsis on wikipedia had me reaching for the bucket....'Goobie, Zoozie and Toofie lose the last five magical balloons in all of Lovelyloveville'.

Apparently it took less than $50 per movie theatre on its opening day in the US so there can't be that many parents taking their kids to watch it...

Good thing too. With such low production values it barely deserves to make anything.

I haven't watched the film of course (why on Earth would I want to?) but I've watched the trailer and read reviews, and I think it's one of the most appalling and insulting releases ever. Insulting not just to decent cinema, but to the young children who deserve much better.

My brother has just come back from his first day in sixth form. His GCSE results were excellent and I'm so glad he got in. smiley

Pulling up at a set of traffic lights this afternoon, and hearing The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway blasting out of a car in front of me grin

smiley

I seem to remember reading a post on here once, where the poster told a story of how he had pulled up at the traffic lights singing along to "No Reply At All" on the radio, and he looked across to the car next to him to see someone doing the exact same thing smiley

Now who was this poster?
