Silly things on YouTube; there's a video that syncs up William Shatner and Joe Jackson's version of Common People to footage from the animated Star Trek series.

I never knew that Spock had such a big bromance with Kirk in this!

I also liked the footage of Jeff Spurling and chums going absolutely nuts in the Sky Sports studio when Chelsea scored!

YouTube is a great place to go if you're bored. I like going to the "weird side of YouTube" sometimes, which is the area of the site with all the strange, awfully made, so-bad-they're-good videos. They provide me with hilarity when I'm feeling down. laugh

The guy in front of me at the off licence buying 5 (five) cans of lager. shocked I mean, come on, don't you normally buy a 4 pack, a 6 pack, two 4 packs = 8 or maybe just 2 if strapped for cash? But 5, that's just strange but also quite amusing. smiley

Watching the Punk Britannia and Synth Britannia programmes on BBC Four last night. Whilst I'm not a big fan of punk, it was still a nostalgia trip as it was an era when I was growing up. As for the synthpop stuff, they showed most of the bands that I was really into in the early 1980s before I discovered the likes of Genesis and Pink Floyd. These included Ultravox, O.M.D., Yazoo, Depeche Mode, Eurythmics, Tears For Fears, etc. smiley

I saw some of that Synth Britannia prog last night too. Unlike you though, Nige, I'd already discovered Genesis, Pink Floyd and the like long before then, so think how bad a time it was for me musically when I was going up town with my mates! I seemed to be the only woman in the world who loved prog! Actually, watching it last night took me back a bit and rekindled some happy memories of people long gone out of my life! Out of those bands on, I must admit I loved Tears For Fears and that album, Songs From the Big Chair, was superb. Bit of a genius that Roland Orzabal, I think!

If you like TFF, try their earlier incarnation, Graduate, album is "Acting my age"

Funnily enough, at the time I really liked The Hurting, especially Mad World and the other singles. Whilst I liked Shout, I found - and still find - Everybody Wants To Rule The World to be one of the most irritating and annoying songs ever. undecided Hence Songs From The Big Chair almost completely passed me by. Earlier today I listened to The Hurting (via Spotify) for the first time in about 25 years and was very disappointed by it. Oh well...
