I live in Canada, but my brothers and sisters in UK are suffering . I left UK in 94, but my family is scattered all over the place. Check out" what makes me sad thread"!

It's February, and it's Canada. You do the math...

In reference to Canada!!

Sorry my feelings are in UK right now, my family and friends are getting flooded right now! sad

You come across quite harsh at times, that all!! Maybe its not directed at me. I just don't understand your posts at times!

In what way do you consider my Canada reference as selfish? My post was neither directed at you nor was it related to you in any way.

I'm afraid that your reaction here is completely out of line.

It is heart breaking in Somerset right now. We are ok in Yeovil, but only 10 miles out of town on The Levels, whole villages have been evacuated with families having to bunk down in leisure centres and town halls. Farmers who have built up their businesses over generations have literally nothing left. Some herds have had to be sold, others broken up and carted away to safer ground. Hundreds of us are helping as best we can with donations of accommodation, feed for the rescued animals, food, clothing, welly boots etc, through the FLAG group set up.
Flooding on the Levels Action Group.
All can be firmly blamed on the Government and the Environment Agency, who in their infinite wisdom, refused to dredge the rivers and spent 15million instead on a sodding bird sanctuary angry
The water will not recede for many, many weeks and only then can the drying out of homes commence.
As I said, heartbreaking, but the local community is pulling together and doing all we can. sad sad

It's times like these that bring out the best in ordinary folk and show up the politicians for what they are! I can't imagine what it would be like to be living down there at the moment , Mal. Those poor, poor people!
