Your welcome our wonderful Sue
I did them especially for you
If they make you smile
at least once in a while
Then that is the least I can do .

kiss

Can't stop the rhyme
happens all the time laugh

Sorry to bring this back to earth with a bump but just wanted to share 2 poems my brother Chris and I wrote for Dad (Chris always called him Gord!)

Gord

No more confusion, no more pain
In all our thoughts, till we meet again
Thanks for a life, full of fun
There was no more, you could have done

Youíve left behind, memories rich and full
Pride for Jess and strength for us all
Weíll miss you Gord, but you havenít gone away
Because in our hearts, youíll beat every day

Dad

We were with you at the end,
The pain we couldnít mend,
But they canít take our memories away,
Thoughts are with you everyday.

As we pull our lives together,
And accept it couldnít last forever,
We know that because of you,
We have strength in all we do.

Me and my Dad smiley

Chris' poem is better than mine - but he's a musicican/songwiter so it should be! That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! wink

Carry on making me laugh JV - I don't want to change the mood of this great thread

Beautiful Choccy,

I lost my dad suddenly when I was 16 and lost many years I wished I could have had yet I know I gained in the 16 years I knew him.

Your pic of you and your Dad is beautiful and I am so happy that you were able to have soooo many years and that he now sits in heaven very proud of you.

God bless

Thanks so much Pamella - I know how lucky I am to have had my Dad till I'm 44. I can't imagine what itmust be like to lose a parent so young as you did and indeed our very own Sammy and Joe cry

When I'm breaking my heart on Monday (at the funeral) I will try to celebrate this fact - sounds good now! undecided

Much love,

Sue xx

Sue,

I am sure the funeral will be a celebration but also sadness, losing someone who is a part of our lives so fully is hard to adjust to. But now and then a little memory will surface and we hear their past voice still very much alive in our heads and hearts.

I like to think we are born with vacant seats in our heart and there are only a few who are able to be seated and those seats will never ever no matter what be empty..........

Thoughts and prayers with you.
