As you can imagine he is THRILLED!!!! although a little confused because he's happy to go, but sad that it means JV can't.

Thanks again John, REALLY appreciate it, you've made a little guy very happy indeed.

And the musicians are.....

Ged Lynch on drums, David Rhodes and Richard Evans playing guitar, Melanie Gabriel doing background vocals (and playing some percussion) and, new this tour, Angie Pollock on keyboards and background vocals.

Of course, Peter on leading vocals .... wink grin

So do I. Melanie's voice has no power at all and her vocals during "Downside up" and "Come talk to me" during the 2002-2004 tour didn't come near the original vocals.

Hey all,

Just to let you know Ticketline has reduced prices from £40 to £20 for Peter Gabriel at Blickling Hall Norfolk 21-7-2007.

Take care

Hi there fellas, I've obviously been to Peter's Rome gig on the 3rd of July, while awaiting for my Genesis free gig.
I knew what to expect from Pete, he had told us fans to vote for one song to be played, although I'm almost certain he already had a pre-prepared setlist he could choose from, I voted for 'Moribund the Burgermeister', he didn't play it.
The gig was all right, Pete did all he could with the old tunes, played at least two or even three songs per album (except his first album, incredibly), Melanie sang 'Mother of Violence' looking like a wee little girlie a bit shy to show up, but I really appreciated the choice.
Tony Levin was the master as always and greeted us fans at the end of the gig, David Rhodes was perfect (especially on 'Big Time'), I don't like Lynch and the new keyboardist too much, I don't know why Tony can't bring Larry Fast and Jerry Marotta back, that would make a better show.
The choice of the songs was quite obvious, I knew he would play things like 'On the Air', 'D.I.Y.', 'Family Snapshot', 'Biko', 'Sledgehammer', 'Solsbury Hill', maybe I was a bit surprised to hear 'Rhythm of the Heat', 'No Self Control' and 'Lay Your Hands on Me', but by gosh: why play songs from 'Us' and 'Up' as if this was a normal PG concert? I've heard 'In your Eyes', 'Secret World', 'Steam' (which I love) THOUSANDS OF TIMES live, I think he'd better replace them with some great oldies, especially from the first album.
Apart from that, Peter is always Peter, a man who still knows he has a lot to say, always looking forward and not stuck into his '80s as (unfortunately) my band....
Bye.
